Waqt ne ye kaisa sitam dhaya hai,

Koi mujhse bhi to pooche mere dil ki,

Mujhpe to bas Qayamat ka hi saya hai!!

Joined both hands and continued praying to Allah, "Ya Allah! Kuch aisa kar, ke ye Qayamat bhi mujhe qubool ho..."

The night before their nikah was arranged on cruise. The groom was the beaming with happiness.

"Congratulations, Sahil! Finally, you also on the horse of the race of married life like me," one of the men patted on Sahil's shoulder.

Sahil laughed out loud at the analogy and questioned him, "Race hare ya jeete?,"

"Ye race nahi qayamat hai, aur qayamat to sitam hi dhati hai," interrupted with short hair, who was standing behind them. 

Sahil turned towards the intruder and exclaimed, "So! Capt. Asad Ahmed Khan is finally here"

"Of course, teri baraat mein nachna toh banta hai,cruise pe hi sahi" said Asad and winked.

Asad laughed and gave Sahil a tight friendly hug, "Well, you're here, and where is your to be...aham?," teased Asad, which made Sahil blush a little. Just then a woman with lowered almond shaped eyes, clad in a red gown started walking down the staircases from the floor above.

Sahil smiled and pointed towards her and said, "haye sach me Qayamat sitam dhati hai," adoring her beauty.

Asad frowned and looked in the direction, Sahil's finger was pointed. He was shocked, when he realised it was her.

"What is the need to join army Asad?," Zoya asked him. 

He held her by her shoulders, "You always knew that I wanted to be an army man, what's new Zoya?"

"Dad isn't ready to get me married to an army man, and I love you a lot," Zoya responded disappointed.

"That's your problem and your dad's mentality, not mine," he lashed out at her and was about to leave for the regiment.

"My dad's mentality? How dare you talk about my dad like that?," she said and slapped him hard.

He replied, "Is this your love, Zoya? Then fine, I don't need it."

He was about to leave but stopped, "Ffour years ago I didn't lose my younger sister, Najma, in a plane crash, but a hijack,. I hope aisa kabhi tumhare sath na ho!" he said and left the place.

Zoya was left behind crying, "Kya karu, Pyaar hai ya sitam...ya Qayamat, jo mujhe kabhi mila hi nahi, tumse bhi nahi," she said to herself seeing Asad leave.

A lone tear fell from her eyes and it was caught by a familiar palm, "Hey Love, it's your day and you're crying?" Complained Sahil.

She wiped her tears and faked a smiled fake, "Just... Abbu ki yaad aayi," she said and chocked. He embraced her when she tightly closed her eyes to hide her tears.

On the cruise deck where the cocktail party was arranged, Sahil asked for Zoya's hand for dance, she stretched her hand feeling awkward as she was unaware of Asad settled at the bar counter.

Asad ordered a whiskey and gulped it in a single sip seeing his love of the life in someone else's arms.

Suddenly, Zoya's eyes fell on Asad and she recalled that Asad cannot handle alcohol, since college days.

She immediately ran towards Asad, leaving Sahil confused, when she saw Asad forcefully dancing closely with a stranger. She pulled him away from another woman and gave him a tight slap.

"What's your problem? If you can't handle alcohol, why do you drink?" she screamed at him in anger.

Asad looked at her and smiled, and then laughed out loud, then started clapping as he lost all the control over himself, "What the f**k do you expect from me,? To dance with you?" he said tracing her delicate face. She jerked his hand off. 

But he continued in the drunken state, "Oh So you feel uncomfortable my dear, ex," coming closer to her to kiss, but Sahil intervened and punched his face.

"Get out from here! Don't show me your creepy lusty face before my marriage," Sahil screamed pointing at the door. 

Zoya gulped, trying to hold back tears at Asad's behaviour. Asad was about to leave, but stopped, turned back and said,"My dear friend, hota hai hota hai, ladki ke mamle mein ladka andha hotahai...," he paused and continued while looking at Zoya,"Kabhi main bhi tha but thank god, jaldi akal aa gayi...jab Qayamat huito, dil toota to,." He patted Sahil's shoulder he left to his suite.

Asad was faltering but no one was around to handle him, in fact everyone was looking at him with disgust.

Zoya closed her eyes tight and tears rolled down her eyes after all the drama that happened and ran towards her suite.

Asad was swiping his card again and again but with no luck with the lock as it wasn't opening. Zoya reached there too and she snatched the card from his hand and swiped it correctly.

"Bar Bar wahi galti karte hi kyu ho Asad?", she said looking at him feeling the pain.

He laughed at her innocence and replied, "Galti to tumne bhi baar baar hi ki hai, Zoya Farrooqui." Zoya was shocked that he was fine and in control.

He continued, "Shayad tumhe pata nahi fauji ko aadat ho jati hai peene ki, par tum to fauji ko janti hi nahi." Zoya's demand of leaving army was still a pain point for him. 

"Then why were you doing drama?," she complained again.

He looked aside and asked, "How much you complaint, army se complaint,mujhse complaint, aur naatak se bhi."

Zoya gulped his pinching words again and held his cheeks to make him understand as she said, "I understand Army now, ma-papa mein se wo log papa ko hi maar paye, ma ko nahi because army rescued her. I owe them."

But he kept quiet. He jerked her hand off and questioned her, "Don't you dare cheat Sahil now!! ek se man nahi bharta kya tumhara?"

She held his hand tight, "You still love me, right? Cursing me is a merely an excuse to let me leave," she asked as a drop of tear ran down her cheeks.

He jerked her hand off again and shut the door tight to lock himself. She too left for her suite and cried out loudly. She kept her hand on the door and slid down.

Next day, Zoya's mother was getting her ready when she heard one of her friends say,"Don't worry Zoe! He will not be able to spoil your nikaah anymore, Sahil will stop the cruise to next port and throw him out."

She closed her eyes tightly and Asad packed his bag as the next port was approaching soon. 

Her breathing increased. She recalled how he saved her from falling down the stairs. She wiped a tear rolling down her eye. Suddenly, she felt as if he was close-by. 

She looked at the door when she felt his gaze on her from the door. Her heart could feel it, even without seeing.

He looked at her and shut his eyes tight seeing his love as bride, but unfortunately not his bride.

A tear fell from his eyes, which he immedietly wiped to hide it from her when he realized that the cruise is slowing down and has stopped. He walked away as he could not see her become someone else's wife infront of his eyes. Hence, he created the drama at the deck previous evening.  

She looked into the mirror and without thinking for a while she suddenly felt a void, as if something has gone away. 

She ran out when he walked out of the cruise, following him. It felt like the longest passage she may have ever passed.

Sahil noticed her running out of the cruise; he understood everything and let her run away  out of the cruise.

Her mother tried to stop her, but she didn't listen to anyone. 

She gasped when she stood in front of Asad, who was shocked to see her. She smiled feeling content and hugged him.

"Tum agar saath ho mujhe har Qayamat qubool hai!!," she whispered and, he reciprocated and hugged her back tightly and lifted her in his arms.
