Rhythm of Love Series: One Shots based on songs*A/N; The following piece of fiction is inspired by Nick Jonas' song "Wedding Bells". The song has been one of my extremely favorite songs for personal reasons and in past days I felt compelled to write something intermingling with the song and my life which is why I am here. This piece has not been written on any character of IPKKND but I felt that it could nicely fit in with the redemption and story line IPKKND had woven.Wedding Bells
Pardon my interruptionThe drinks just setting inOn my reservationa reason I don't exist
He walked into the venue, with his head downcast and his eyes bloodshot red. He silently walked over towards the last row and took a seat, hiding his disheveled appearance from his own family and friends.
She says, can you keep a secret?A ceremony set for JuneI know it's a rush but I just love him so muchI hope that you can meet him soon
He felt his head getting heavier as silence fell over and buzzing amongst the guests stopped. He looked up to see her walking in, looking ethereal. He felt his chest tighten and his breathing hitch to see the wedding dress that she had adorned. It was the one he had picked when they were together.
He looked over towards the man who was awaiting her. Was he going to keep her happy? He hadn't met him before personally but he knew who he was. She had called him last week after a year to give him the news of her happy life and inviting him over a dinner.
No, I don't want to love, if it's not youI don't want to hear the wedding bells provethat we can't try, one last timeNo, I don't want to hearThe wedding bells chime
He clenched his jaw to see the smile falter on her face as her eyes fell on him. The look of pity evaded in her eyes seeing his state. He turned around with his head downcast again. It was his fault she was here. It was his his fault that she had finally chosen to look for someone better then him. The agony of regret and guilt resurfaced making him want to yell and scream.
Trying to fall asleepYou wake me up, cause I am trying to see the lightinstead of you in whiteNo, I don't want to hear the wedding bells chimeThe Wedding Bells
He wanted hope. He needed it, desperately. His nails dug into his palms in frustration as she moved ahead towards her groom, the man awaiting her restlessly. The smile on his face and the sparkle on his eye was enough to prove him that this time, he had readily failed as a man. He looked up to see her being almost there. His eyes fell on towards the members of her family, seated in the front to look at him.
Pardon my harsh reactionYou put me on the spot& If I am being honestI hope that I'd get caught
The humiliation came burning back as there gazes fell on him and the love that was once overflowing through those eyes was distinctly eaten up by sympathy for him. He wanted to die, then and there.
She was now standing opposite her groom, the man she was going to be spending rest of her life with. Her eyes shot up towards him again instead of looking at her going-to-be-husband.
Showing you I'm all happyLetting you see my truthCause if you recall our anniversary fallsEleven nights into June
The remorse for not coming back spread on her face. He looked at her blankly before smiling and shrugging. She smiled back in relief not overlooking the turmoil that was cooking up itself inside him. He looked away and silently slid away as the ceremony started.
Today was the day they had first met. She had come crashing on to him from nowhere and out of all the days, she had chosen today. He walked over towards the bar set up outside by the hotel management.
No, I don't want to love, if it's not youI don't want to hear the wedding bells provethat we can't try, one last timeNo, I don't want to hearThe wedding bells chime
The bartender looked at him in confusion before pouring him a drink. He gulped down the warm liquid down his throat before walking back to his seat to see her finally give herself away to a man whom she had chosen over him. He closed his eyes and threw his head in his hands. This wasn't happening. This couldn't happen. Not after all he had tried.
Trying to fall asleepYou wake me up, cause I am trying to see the lightinstead of you in whiteNo, I don't want to hear the wedding bells chimeThe Wedding Bells
Everything seemed to be falling apart in pieces that could never be adjoined back. He didn't have the courage to look up anymore. To see her smile because of someone else. The priest's voice rang inside him declaring her the wife of someone other then him. She was gone. Never to be his, ever again.
He heard the wedding bells chime and the joy erupt among the guests. His head felt heavier then before as the memories of their past flashed before his eyes.
The Wedding BellsThe Wedding Bells
He felt someone walk over towards him. He appeared worst then ever as he looked up to see her standing behind him.
"I'm sorry." she mouthed.
"I'm okay. Never been better." he replied standing up and walking away.

That was a very nice piece. Sad and soul searching. You should certainly write for the IPKKND contest. Good luck 🙂
