Morning in Gokula
Morning came wrapped in fog.
Smoke from chimneys filled the air.
The men left, ploughs in hand as
Women of the village lit their stoves,
And shushed the sleepy children.
Bulls and cows called out in love,
As their Prince arrived.
He flicked his scarf and whistled a note;
Within the mist he pranced.
All the cowherds flocked to him and
Unto the river he led them.
