Talk about spreading your wings and Zomato seemingly would perfectly fit the bill. Before you wonder why are we talking about a food delivery platform on an entertainment website; well, there is a reason for that.

Zomato is essentially a food ordering and delivery-based application but is now all set to spread its wings and venture into being a streaming service now. Yes, that's right. Zomato will be launching 18 new originals and the same will begin streaming from 16th September 2019.

There won't be a different application to stream the shows as the presentations will be available categorized by genre that will let viewers watch 3-15 minutes of videos across shows, recipes, and sneak-peek restaurant stories. In a recent statement, "We are constantly looking for new ways to engage our users around food. Most of our users visit the app several times a week. This presents an opportunity to further delight our users using Zomato Originals," said Deepinder Goyal, Zomato founder and CEO.

"We combined all things food with binge-worthy genres and came up with a diverse slate of shows. With shows in both Hindi and English, we hope every corner of India will tune in to Zomato to hone their taste buds," said Durga Raghunath, Senior Vice-President (Growth), Zomato.

Some of the shows that will be available are Food and You with Sanjeev Kapoor, Banake Dikha with Sumukhi Suresh, Grandmaster Chef with Sahil Shah, Starry Meals with Janice, Race Against the App and Dude, Where's the Food with Jordindian.

The company also mentioned that the shows are shot in a vertical frame specifically suitable for mobile viewing.
