#WrapUpAugust: A month where many shows CAME and WENT!

While July was a more happening month all thanks to the controversies and buzz, August was more about shows coming and going, apart from the normal entries and exits.

Here's what transpired this month.

The television industry lost 2 actors - Gagan Kang and Arijit Lavania met their untimely death in a road accident. Actor Manish Bisla stepped into Gagan Kang's shoes in Mahakaali: Anth Hi Aarambh Hai, but Arijit's replacement is yet to be finalised.

ENTRIES

There were pivotal but, less number of entries in shows this month a few of which are-

Paras Chhabra in Aarambh, Dolly Sohi in Meri Durga, Nidhi Uttam in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Sudha Chandran in Shani, Angad Hasija in Waaris, Vandana Vithlani and Apurva Agnihotri in Sasural Simar Ka, Ashish Kapoor in Woh Apna Sa, Poonam Preet entered Naamkarann and Rishika Mihani entered Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?

EXITS

Kanchi Singh quit Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai and Kunal Verma made an abrupt exit from Dil Se Dil Tak.

REPLACEMENTS

Vishal Jethwa replaced Bhavesh Balchandani in Big Magic's Chakradhari Ajay Krishna, when the latter quit the show.

COMEBACKS

Neha Saxena will soon make her comeback with And TV's next titled Siddhivinayak.

ON AIR

A really long list of shows went on-air this month- Kaun Banega Crorepati 9, Jeet Gayi Toh Piya More, Vighnaharta Ganesh, Dev, Rishton Ka Chakravyuh, Nimki Mukhiya, Ayushman Bhavv, Kya Haal Mr.Panchal and Sam Dam Dand Bhed, Om Shanti Om.  

OFF AIR

Ghulaam, Prem Ya Paheli? - Chandrakanta, May I Come In Madam?, Har Mard Ka Dard, Peshwa Bajirao, Yeh Moh Moh Ke Dhaage, Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi and Pehredaar Piya Ki went off-air this month. Some ran their course while a few end-tracks came as a shock.   

WEBBED

Ekta Kapoor will soon be back with a web series titled Haq Se, starring Suvreen Chawla, Karan Wahi and Suvreen Chawla have bagged Netflix's Sacred Games.  

PATCH UP

Adaa Khan and Ankit Gera, who had had a nasty breakup in the past have now patched up as friends and are constantly seen in each other's company along with their mutual group of friends, also Urvashi Dholakia and Anuj Sachdeva are rumoured to have patched up.

BREAK UPS

Shraddha Arya was in the news for having a troubled time with her fiance, but she denied having called off her engagement.

Well, there was news of lovebirds Mohit Raina and Mouni Roy parting ways, but Mohit denied these rumours.

ENGAGEMENTS

Kunal Verma and Puja Banerjee, Maheck Chahal and Ashmit Patel got engaged this month.

MARRIAGES

Actress Pooja Singh announced her wedding with fiance Kapil Chattani on December 5th, Anas Rashid will tie the knot with fiance Heena on September 10th, Naman Shaw will also tie the knot with his long time best friend Nehaa Mishra on November 23rd.

DIVORCES

Piyush Sahdev and wife Akangsha Rawat Sachdev separated after their 5 year marriage fell apart.

INJURIES

Neel Motwani recently injured his leg in a bid to save his co-star, Karanvir Bohra injured his ankle and will soon have to undergo surgery soon, Trishika Ashish Tripathi injured herself when the set that she was shooting on caught fire, Zayed Khan injured himself when he fell off his horse during a shoot, Karthika Nair slipped from her harness and fractured her ankle.   

BABIES

Rajshri Thakur Vaidya gave birth to a baby girl this month, Pooja Sharma too welcomed a baby girl into this world, Sourabh Raaj Jain became the proud papa to twins - a boy and a girl.

BUZZ

Krushna Abhishek and Sudesh Lehri's fallout, Amit Tandon's wife Ruby Tandon jailed in Dubai, Kunal Verma and Siddharth Shukla's fight on the sets of Dil Se Dil Tak, the FWICE Strike, the Pehredaar Piya Ki controversy and Ssharad Malhotra and Amit Tandon's apparent cold war on the sets of Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki made it to the headlines.

All in all, August saw a sort of revamp on the content front on Television.
