"The characters are very real in a youth show"- Swati Kapoor

Making heads turn with her enthralling performance as Rachana in 'Kaali - Ek Agnipariksha', the bubbly actress Swati Kapoor will now be seen playing a distinguished character in Channel V show 'Mastaangi' as an ISI Agent. 

Let's get to know more about her character in a tete-a-tete with Tellybuzz..

Swati, what probed you to take up 'Mastaangi'?

It was a youth show. And I wanted to do a youth based show. That is why I took it up.

You've done Kaali-Ek Agnipariksha. So what unique factor were you looking out for in your next show?

This is very different from the shows that I have done earlier. Even if you talk about Kaali or Humari Saas Leela, they were not youth-centric. This is a youth centric show. And with Kaali we were talking about a very serious topic. But this is all about glamour and fun and it is colourful.

Do you get to be yourself in this show?

Of course, Yes! That is the best part about doing a youth show. The characters are almost real.

Why a youth show Swati?

Maybe for a change. Because I've already done shows for Star Plus or Colors which were not exactly youth shows. And since I have done shows on serious topics, I wanted to do a youth show because the characters are very real and its fun doing them. And as an actor you need change.

Can you tell me something about your character in the show?

My character's name is Ria. And she is a very positive happy girl, who cares for everyone, loves everyone but at the same time she is a bechaari. She plays a positive character but everyone tends to take advantage of her. She'll take a stand for something that is not correct but in her own manner. She has her own set of rules. She'll not speak to you in a bad way or cross her limits.

So how do you think the show's response will be?

We are on air since 3 weeks and luckily we are getting a very good response. We all are very happy. We are doing a lot of hard work, we've left our families and are shooting in Pune. But if you get good results, everything is worth it.
