Taapsee shared her untold story and opened up on her struggles, insults from casting directors, the rejections she faced and much much more in an interview with Pinkvilla. Right from facing sexism in the showbiz to fighting against nepotism, the Mission Mangal actress has faced it all.

She revealed that she was rejected at auditions for an ad because the makers felt she wasn’t poised enough to carry a saree, as required for the shoot. She also recalled her struggling days when her own agency told her that no filmmaker or director wanted to meet her because they felt she did not have the potential.

Taapsee said, "Here, I have seen a lot. I have been to award shows where I have been made to sit on the sixth row because they felt I wasn't worthy of the front row." Talking about insults, she also stated, "A casting director once told me I was the worst thing about Chashme Baddoor. That was hurtful."

She also revealed how she was called a ‘Panauti’ and termed a bad luck charm because her two-three films didn't do well. And she further went on to talk about how she was replaced from certain films with no justified reason given to her.

Despite having proved her mettle with her past films and impressive acting, Taapsee reveals that she still has an ongoing war to be accomplished in the near future of films.

Meanwhile, Taapsee was last seen in Mission Mangal alongside Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharman Joshi, and Kirti Kulhari. She will next be seen in Saand Ki Aankh, opposite Bhumi Pednekar. The film is inspired by real-life oldest shooters in India Chandroo Toma (Shooter Dadi) and her sister in law Prakashi Tomar (Revolver Dadi) from Uttar Pradesh. The film is slated to release on 25 October 2019.
