Now, on Wednesday, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has filed draft charges against Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and a few others, pertaining to the drug case involved with actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death in June 2020.
Atul Sarpande, a special public prosecutor, reportedly told PTI that the prosecution continues to press all of the charges included in the chargesheet that was presented to the court against each and every accused person.
For the uninitiated , the NCB had charged the accused on charges including Section 8(c) read with 20(b)(ii)(A), 22, 27, 27A, 28, 29, and 30 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
In addition, the prosecution asked the court to file charges against Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik for using drugs and for obtaining and paying for them on behalf of SSR.
The court was slated to submit these charges against each and every accused, according to public prosecutor Sarpande. He stated that it was impossible because some of the accused had filed for discharge.
The court insisted that the charges wouldn't be filed until the accused's discharging pleas were resolved.
