Sonakshi Sinha's Mumbai apartment in Bandra, the place where she tied the knot with Zaheer Iqbal on June 23, is up for sale, and the word is spreading fast. Recent reports reveal that the actress has acquired a bigger home. Yes, you got it right!
An insider close to Sonakshi Sinha spilled the beans to ETimes, revealing that she has purchased a more spacious apartment in a building being constructed by Zaheer Iqbal. "Sonakshi has bought a bigger apartment in a building that Zaheer is developing," shared the source. It's worth noting that Zaheer's family has ties to the construction sector.
Sonakshi initially shared news of her apartment purchase in May 2023 on Instagram. Later, she showcased her home in a video on Architectural Digest India. As per Hindustan Times, she had actually bought the apartment in March 2020. By September 2023, she had also snapped up another unit in the same building for Rs 11 crore.
The actress from Heeramandi, Sonakshi, previously offered a sneak peek into her abode to Bombay Times, highlighting its significance as her first independently purchased property. She shared that her father, Shatrughan Sinha, often fondly recalls his initial Mumbai residence—a 1BHK apartment at Bandstand (Bandra)—which holds a special place in his heart. Sonakshi, inspired by her father's sentiments, dreamed of owning her own home, making this milestone incredibly poignant for her.
Sonakshi Sinha registered her marriage to Zaheer Iqbal in that apartment, posting heartwarming photos of the occasion. To avoid any negative remarks regarding their inter-faith marriage, she turned off comments on the posts. The duo had a civil wedding, and despite their distinct religious backgrounds, Sonakshi, a Hindu, did not convert to Islam.
On the work front, Sonakshi Sinha was recently seen in the horror comedy Kakuda, sharing the screen with Riteish Deshmukh and Saqib Saleem. She also starred in the highly anticipated Heeramandi, helmed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. This series boasts a stellar cast including Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Sharmin Segal, Shekhar Suman, Fardeen Khan, Shruti Sharma, Jason Shah, and Indresh Malik alongside Sonakshi. Set in pre-Independence India, Heeramandi explores themes of revenge, power, love, and freedom.
