Shocked and Surprised: BigB pens a touching letter for Bappi Lahiri

Singer-composer Bappi Lahiri breathed his last on Tuesday night at the age of 69. After the sad demise, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan took to his blog and penned a heartfelt letter for the singer. Read on to know more.

 Bappi Lahiri's death came as a shock to the music industry and the film fraternity at large, especially since it came less than ten days after Lata Mangeshkar's death. Bappi Lahiri's final rituals commenced in Mumbai on Thursday morning, and tributes have started to pour in all over again. 

 Amitabh Bachchan also wrote a touching homage to the famous artist. 

 Taking to his blog, Amit Ji wrote,  

 "Bappi Lahiri .. music director extraordinaire passes away .. shocked and surprised and in the misery of these tragic events of ‘passing’ in the rapid succession of times .. his songs of films with me are and shall I believe remain eternal .. they are played hummed sung along in these modern generation times with alacrity and rejoice .. and the ability of his sense of success with a particular moment, untethered .. checking in to board a flight at Heathrow from London to home and a gentle tap on your shoulder, ‘your this film is going to be very successful and the song I just gave, shall be remembered for ages’ .."  

 The megastar further added,  

 "he was right .. and learning the graphs of some, at his modest home , in rehearsal, an even greater experience ..slowly they all leave us .. good night dearests .. it nears the hour of 2 am and the (sleep emojis) it colludes to perform well.."  


 The veteran singer's last rites began at 10 AM at the Vile Parle crematorium in Mumbai where his mortal remains were bought. The Disco King's son Bappa Lahiri arrived from the US on Thursday morning and was present with his family for the last rites.  

 Not only Amitabh Bachchan, but several prominent Bollywood personalities remembered Bappi Lahiri and his magic.
