Sangeeta Ghosh on getting nervous about her role as she preps for 'Swaran Ghar'

Actor Sangeeta Ghosh has been on the tube for the longest time now and is undoubtedly one of the stalwarts of the small screen having starred in some of the most popular shows over the years.

While she hit instant fame with her show in the early 2000s in the form of Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand, Ghosh continued to star in fascinating characters ahead.

Now, the actor hits full gear as she plays the female lead opposite Ronit Roy in Ravi Dubey and Sargun Mehta's upcoming show on Colors, Swaran Ghar.

The promo has already been appreciated immensely by everyone and in a recent interview with ETimes TV, the actor opened up on the concept of the show, her character and how she still gets nervous before coming in front of the camera.

Her (Swaran's) husband is extremely supportive of her and shows her the ways of life. I wish aise husbands ho duniya mein (laughs!)

She first said, "The show’s title is about a house that’s named after my character, Swaran. She comes from a humble background and gets married to Kanwal, who is affluent, well-read and well-travelled. Her husband is extremely supportive of her and shows her the ways of life. I wish aise husbands ho duniya mein (laughs!). Swaran adores her three sons and her world revolves around her family. She also relies on her children for the smallest things. But as we see everywhere, after growing up, kids have a life of their own. There comes a time when she realises that she will have to turn over a new leaf and stand on her own. The show is also about woman empowerment. It’s not a regular love story. It is what you see in everyday life. I feel it is more difficult to get a simple story across on the screen than a complex one. I hope I do justice to this character.”

Being an absolute veteran, she amazes as she mentioned she gets nervous even today before every scene she performs, "Yes, all the time before every scene. The team working on a show visualises a character in a certain way and I want it to translate through me on screen. That results in a lot of nervousness, especially at the beginning. Once you start shooting, you ease into it. I feel it is good to feel nervous -- when you are trying to build a rapport with your co-actors and the technical team on the set. It keeps the enthusiasm alive.”

Ghosh was last seen in the supernatural thrilled Divya Drishti and this is her small comeback of sorts where Divya Drishti ended almost two years ago.
