#Review: Vikas Gupta's Puncch Beat Promises A wholesome Entertainment With Powerpacked Performances!

We suggest you to stream this one...

This valentine's day, ALT Balaji has two special gifts for viewers- Puncch Beat and Kehne Ko Humsafar Hai 2. ALT Balaji, helmed by Ekta Kapoor has become a streaming giant and is offering unique and strong content to its viewers. The diversity of content and the unique concepts and stories are really commendable.

Puncch Beat, created by Vikas Gupta is an intense high school drama with the perfect blend of romance, emotion and action. The web series introduces Priyank Sharma, Harshita Gaur, Siddharth Sharma and Khushi Joshi as the lead characters. The series has been creating a lot of buzz since its announcement.

Here, we present to you a small review of the series.

Story:

The first episode introduces the main characters Rahat (Priyank), Divyanka (Harshita), Ranbeer (Siddharth) and Padmini (Khushi) who happen to study in a larger than life, dreamy school named Rosewood High, where there is only one rule, to obey all the rules. Yes, the story can easily pass off as  the second part of Karan johar's infamous The Student Of The Year, as it seems highly inspired but it. The characters, the school and the story line will remind you of it, yet the series has its own charm.

A boy with dreams of becoming a boxing champion, Rahat joins Rosewood High in the middle of the term with the recommendation of his mother's friend, who also happens to be the principal. There he meets another mid term joinee Divyanka, whose dreams of becoming a dancer is being sabotaged by her aunt (who is now her only guardian). Situationally, Rahat meets Ranbeer, son of principal and the it' boy of the school who dates the obvious it' girl of the school Padmini. How they all get through the odds of Rosewood High is what the series is all about.

The Good:

The series is made at the production level of a Karan Johar film, and no surprise it turns out to be really good. The aesthetics, background score, chemistry is all perfectly structured. The actors seem perfectly cast according to their characters. Priyank, Harshita and it's Siddharth Sharma who has surprised us with his performance and looks like every school girl's dream.

The Not-So-Good:

Despite the screenplay being strong, the series falls short of good dialogues. The dialogues could have been slightly more impactful. thus there is a certain predictability in the scenes.

Verdict:

Post Gumrah, Yeh Hai Aashiqui, Warrior High and Kaisi Yeh Yaariyan we didn't expect anything less than this from lost boy production house.  The series is predictable but nonetheless, definitely makes for a good watch. After Apaharan, Puncch Beat has definitely risen the bar for the web content. And, who doesn't like high school drama, right? The more the drama, double the fun. Watch it with your friends this valentines day.
