Rajkumar Santoshi receives 'threats' ahead of the release of 'Gandhi Godse-Ek Yudh' asks police protection

All eyes have been on the Gandhi Godse-Ek Yudh film, which is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. Fans are excited to see the movie after seeing the trailer, which has generated a lot of buzz about it. With this movie, the director will make a comeback to the big screen after an absence of nearly 9 years. But there have already been many controversies surrounding the movie. A recent film promotion was interrupted by a small number of protesters.
While this Republic Day, January 26, 2023, is the scheduled release date for Gandhi Godse-Ek Yudh; ahead of the film's release, the director has requested security for himself and his family in a letter to Mumbai's special CP Deven Bharti.

According to reports from ANI, Rajkumar Santoshi reportedly wrote a letter to Deven Bharti, the special CP for Mumbai, that his team (directors, producers & cast) for the movie Gandhi vs Godse, were in the middle of the press conference where it was interrupted by a group of people with vested interests. The letter further read, he received several threats from some unknown people asking him to stop the release and promotion of this film. He also said he feels unsafe and he further asserted that grave damage and injury could be caused to him and his family members if such people are set free and if no steps are taken by the police and further losses would be caused not only to them but also to the public at large.
Rajkumar Santoshi said that big stars have greater reach, and can help an idea reach the audiences. However, he said that if the content doesn’t require a big star, casting them for the part wouldn’t be right.
