Radhika Madan Opens up on Replacing Sara Ali Khan in Angrezi Medium

Directed by Homi Adajania and produced under the production banner Maddock Films, Angrezi Medium is the spin-off to the 2017 comedy Hindi Medium and stars Irrfan Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepak Dobriyal, and Radhika Madan. 

The trailer has impressed the audience so far and has been receiving good comments from the critics. The film marks the comeback of Irrfan Khan into the movies, and the trailer highlights his relationship with his on-screen daughter, played by Radhika Madan in the film.

While Radhika’s stint seems to have impressed the audience, there were reports of Sara Ali Khan being the first choice to play her character. Reportedly, Radhika has replaced Saif Ali Khan-Amrita Singh’s daughter and actor, Sara in  Angrezi Medium.

Speaking to Mid Day, Radhika reveals how she bagged the film,

“I auditioned for the role, and begged to the universe that the film should come my way. I had to perform two scenes — one where I declare that I want to go to London, and another which is part of the climax. I guess my performance in the latter worked in my favour.”

Besides, when the actress was asked about the reports of replacing Sara in the film, she finally cleared the air and stated, 

“I auditioned for this film, and I will continue to audition for movies that catch my attention. I have no idea about Sara, or the backstory of the film’s casting.”

Meanwhile, Angrezi Medium is slated to be released on 13 March 2020.
