Kangana Ranaut is currently gearing up for her upcoming sports drama titled Panga. Directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and produced by Fox Star Studios, the film features Kangana Ranaut, Jassi Gill, Richa Chadda, Neena Gupta and Yogya Bhasin. Inspired by the life of a national level Kabbadi player, the film depicts the life of a kabaddi player.
Besides the actors mentioned above, Pankaj Tripathi was also supposed to be a part of this sports drama, Panga, but had to, unfortunately, walk out citing date issues.
As per a Bollywood Hungama report, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari was keen on having Pankaj Tripathi on-board and had narrated a crucial role to him. The Gangs of Wasseypur actor had given his nod for the project and he was supposed to join the team for the Bhopal schedule. However, Tripathi has his calendars full of exciting projects like Kagaz, Mirzapur 2, Mimi, ’83, Ludo, and Kargil Girl, and hence could not shell out dates for Kangana Ranaut’s film.
Well, this will surely be a loss to the film as Pankaj Tripathi is an exceptionally talented actor and has impressed the audience with his powerful performances in films like Gangs Of Wasseypur, Stree, Masaan, Bareilly Ki Barfi, Luka Chuppi to name a few.
Meanwhile, the Panga trailer dropped a few weeks back and it promises an enthralling tale of a mother set to make a comeback in Kabaddi and play for the nation. The trailer was lauded by many who’s who of Bollywood including Deepika Padukone.
Panga releases on 24 January 2020.
