Pamela Chopra, wife of late filmmaker Yash Chopra passes away at 74

Pamela Chopra, the wife of the late filmmaker Yash Chopra, passed away in Mumbai at age 74. According to Dr Prahlad Prabhudesai, she had been on a ventilator at Lilavati Hospital for 15 days due to pneumonia.

Pamela was not only the wife of Yash Chopra but also his frequent collaborator in several of his films. She was credited as a writer, costume designer, and singer in some of YRF's famous movies. Pamela also wrote the story for Yash Chopra's 1976 film Kabhi Kabhie and was credited as the designer for the 1981 film Silsila. Yash Chopra often spoke about Pamela's input in his movies and credited her as one of the foundations of Yash Raj Films.

Pamela was passionate about music, and Yash Chopra would always ensure that she was a part of the music sittings of his movies. Pamela Chopra sang several songs for Yash Chopra's films, including 'Kabhi Kabhie' and 'Mujhse Dosti Karoge!' (2002). Her most famous song was 'Ghar Aaja Pardesi' from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, which she sang alongside Manpreet Kaur. She was also featured in the opening song 'Ek Duje Ke Vaaste' from the movie 'Dil To Pagal Hai,' where she briefly appeared alongside Yash Chopra.

In many of her interviews, Pamela spoke about her passion for music and how she became a part of the music sittings group for Yash Chopra's movies. She was an integral part of Yash Raj Films and will always be remembered as a significant contributor to the Indian film industry. Her son Aditya Chopra, the head of YRF, and her other son Uday Chopra, an actor, have not yet released any statements on her demise.
