‘No RIP, a b***d’: Neena Gupta’s comment about late Pritish Nandy sparks controversies

A veteran journalist, filmmaker and a fearless person, this is how Anupam Kher described the late Pritish Nandy in his recent Instagram post. However, it was not Anupam’s words but Neena Gupta’s comment on the said post that sparked a heated controversy.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Anupam remembered the late journalist and penned a heartfelt note in his memories. Anupam remembered him as a fearless person and also recalled early memories with the late journalist. He wrote;

Deeply deeply saddened and shocked to know about the demise of one of my dearest and closest friends #PritishNandy! Amazing poet, writer, filmmaker and a brave and unique editor/journalist! He was my support system and a great source of strength in my initial days in Mumbai. We shared lots of things in common. He was also one of the most fearless people I had come across. Always Larger than life. I learnt so many things from him. Off-late we didn't meet much. But there was a time when we were inseparable! I will never forget when he surprised me by putting me on the cover of Filmfare and more importantly #ThelllustratedWeelky. He was the true definition of yaaro ka yaar! I will miss you and our times together my friend. Rest well.

However, Neena Gupta’s memories of the late journalist were not very fond. The actress took to the comments section of Anupam’s post and refused to offer condolences to him. She stated that Nandy leaked the birth certificate of her child Masaba and that she has proof of the same.

Neena writes, ‘Do u Noooo, what he did to me, and I called him a bastard openly. He stole my babies birth certificate and published it.’

She further writes, ‘So no RIP, you understand, and I have a proof of it.’

Well, the said comment was later deleted either by Anupam Kher or by Neena herself.

For the uninformed, Nandy had published the birth certificate of Masaba Gupta, which is how, she got to be know as a ‘love child’ in the entire country.
