'Kochadaiiyaan' mobile games surpass 1 mn downloads

Two official mobile games inspired by the forthcoming Rajinikanth-starrer "Kochadaiyaan" have crossed one million downloads on mobile applications.

The games, titled "KochadaiyaanThe Legend: Kingdom Run" and "Kochadaiiyaan The Legend: Reign of Arrows", are developed by Vroovy, a joint venture between digital media company Hungama and game service company Gameshastra.

They were made available across iOS, Android and Windows platforms mid-March.

"With the blockbuster film slated to release this month, we have witnessed an upswing in the number of mobile game downloads. We are delighted that the anticipation and reach among the masses has helped us surpass the one million downloads mark across appstores," Neeraj Roy, managing director and CEO, Hungama Digital Media Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., said in a statement.

"Kochadaiyaan", directed by Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya R. Ashwin, is slated to release May 23. It is touted to be the country's first 3D animated photo-realistic motion capture film.
