Kantara Chapter One: Rishab Shetty, Hombale Films lock October 2, 2025 as release date

Kantara: Chapter One release date has been announced. The film will come in theatres from October 2, 2025. Kantara: Chapter One further explores the mysticism of the Tulu belt, and the folklore of the local deities. After the huge success of Kantara, the makers announced the sequel of the movie. Kantara was about the Panjurli Daiva who protects the forests of Tulu land. The movie resonated with every Indian who believes in the concept of Kul devta or the Kshetrapal. The movie might clash with Thalapathy 69 at the box office. Kantara: Chapter One was initially supposed to come in the first half of 2025 but the post-production is taking time. 

Kantara won a couple of awards at the National Awards for Rishab Shetty and Hombale Films. In Kantara: Chapter One we explore the life of Kaadubettu Shiva in the Kadamba dynasty. This is the name of Rishab Shetty’s character in Kantara. In Kantara: Chapter One we will see some secrets from the past unravel in the deep terrains of the jungle. The atmospheric teaser of the movie left fans very excited. Actress Sapthami Gowda who played Leela in the film is also going to join Rishab Shetty.

The film is about how modernity and faith are at war with one another. In Kantara, people wanted to claim acres of land given to villagers from a king who got blessings of the Panjurli Daiva. It explored the tradition of Bhoota Kola, which is seen as a sacred ritual. Kantara: Chapter One will explore Shiva’s relationship with Panjurli. The actor’s team spent months talking to people, villagers and historians to know the folklore and myths associated with the place. India with its diversity and folklore has beautiful stories to tell to a global audience. Kantara did that with elan.
