'Kalki 2': Producer Aswini Dutt drops big update about second part of Prabhas, Deepika Padukone starrer

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ makers are on cloud nine. After movies like Adipurush, Salaar and Saaho where people questioned the credibility of box office numbers, Prabhas has delivered a film, which is being hailed as a modern epic of Indian cinema. Kalki 2898 AD has set the box office on fire in a manner not many expected given the low hype. People were complaining about how the movie was not promoted enough by the makers except a couple of events in Mumbai and South India. It has proved that when content is king, no one needs to oversell a movie. 

Now, Aswini Dutt the owner of Vyjayanthi Movies has said that 60 per cent of Kalki 2 has been filmed already. However, the big portions are remaining. Fans are interested in seeing more character arcs involving Bhairava, Ashwatthama and Supreme Yaskin. We got a teaser of a video call where Prabhas and Nag Ashwin are discussing part two of the film. Kamal Haasan also said that Supreme Yaskin has a bigger role in the second movie. Prabhas has films like The Raja Saab and Spirit lined up. Given the hype of Kalki 2898 AD, the makers would like to release it soon. 

Ashwini Dutt is the father-in-law of Nag Ashwin. His daughters Priyanka and Swapna manage the production house. He made news after Amitabh Bachchan touched his feet at the Mumbai event of Kalki 2898 AD. He is a few years younger to Big B. It seems the whole story of Kalki 2898 AD is in two parts. It is on the lines of Baahubali. After the success of Pushpa, the makers went in for Pushpa 2. Franchise movies have a brand value and bring business to cinemas. The industry needs films to revive the theatres.
