It is sensuous not vulgar: Vineeta Menon

New Delhi, June 24 (IANS) Newcomer Vineeta Menon who did an item number in director Priyadarshan's 'Mere Baap Pehle Aap' says she knew the director would not let her look vulgar and would maintain subtle sensuality in the song.

'Priyadarshan sir calls it a title song not an item song. He has been a dream director,' Vineeta told IANS.

'Well if you see the video, even though I am wearing a bikini it does not come across as vulgar, one can sit with the family and watch the song."

'I am lucky that I found a role, and when a director like Priyadarshan approaches you, one doesn't say no.'

Was she hesitant as a newcomer doing an item number? 'No, I was not but I was afraid of being categorized as an item girl,' she said.

Vineeta, a former Gladrags model and winner of the Miss Photogenic award in 2007, said: 'Modelling was easy and now it's absolutely Bollywood for me.'

Asked how it felt to work with a veteran like Om Puri, she said: 'It was lovely working with him, he made me feel really comfortable.'

Vineeta has come a long way from working in a bank to modelling and now foraying into Bollywood.
