Ishq Mein Marjawan 2 features Rrahul Sudhir, Helly Shah and Vishal Vashishta in the lead roles and has been an absolute hit with the audiences. The show moved to OTT in March 2021, and it was last month that the reports about the show going off-air were confirmed. In no time, fans were already asking for a new season with the same cast, and that is just enough to fathom the love it has received.
India Forums got in touch with Rrahul Sudhir aka Vansh, where he spoke about what's next on his list, the entire conversation around OTT, what it feels like when a show wraps up, and more.
Working on a daily soap is taxing, what is the first thing on your to-do list once you wrap up the shoot?
Yes, it is taxing and takes a major chunk of your day every day and you work continuously, for over a period of time that the show works. The first thing that I want to do is just spend time with my family.
Shows that move to OTT, eventually have gone off-air in the past. Did you see that coming?
The OTT setup is like that, it is not supposed to go on forever and it is not supposed to go on since it has a limited time set up, so yes, we were aware of that.
Over the due course of a year that you have worked on the show, how would you say have you grown - professionally and on the personal front?
I think professionally, I tried to do my best and stay as focused on my work and worked with some of the best directors in the industry, for which I am very thankful to my producers. I think the entire team taught me how to be more professional, carry myself better, to have better conduct as an actor, and that's something I have learned, which is a very very great thing professionally. Personally, I think I have realised that whatever moments you can spend with your family in the time you have with them and make the most of it.
Do you think you want a break from doing TV and explore other mediums now?
I don't know if taking a break is the right word, I think an actor continues to act irrespective of where he is acting so it is not like you take a break from TV and work somewhere else, it is still acting. It is also not a conscious thing that people like me can do, it is not like we are flooded with options now and then. Whatever nice comes, I will pick irrespective of TV or films or the web, I will see.
If you could tell us about your upcoming projects and what are you looking forward to.
As an actor, I am unemployed, let's see whatever good comes if at all something comes really interesting comes, otherwise I am happy waiting.
t is a very healthy competition and I think OTT in itself has given a lot of scope to a lot of people to come up and show how good they are, so it gives a lot of scope to acting and good work. I don't know if it is helping in classifying actors as per platforms, and you just act, and I hope that with OTT, we can see a lot of TV actors in a different light, which is a great great thing.

OTT was supposed to blur the lines, but it has kind of widened the gap with now, actors being classified as those from 3 different platforms. Your thoughts?
I don't know, OTT came with the intention of blurring the lines, a medium does not have ethics, morals, or values, it is just the sole reason of entertainment and that is about it. I don't know if it has widened or reduced, but I see a lot of TV actors doing web, a lot of great film actors doing web and a new crop of actors which are only doing OTT, and to be honest, they are really very good at their work. It is a very healthy competition and I think OTT in itself has given a lot of scope to a lot of people to come up and show how good they are, so it gives a lot of scope to acting and good work. I don't know if it is helping in classifying actors as per platforms, and you just act, and I hope that with OTT, we can see a lot of TV actors in a different light, which is a great great thing.
When any project wraps up, what would you say are thoughts that generally go on in your head?
I don't understand the business of making TV shows, I understand the longer it turns, the more successful it is called, but even the most successful shows end up someday and I don't want to take away from or neither do I want to compare success, which is a stupid thing to do. When a project wraps up, there is no ill-feeling and there are warm memories of whatever you have done and it will stay with you for the rest of your life, so I am just glad, one more experience in your life.
