Imran Khan, known for his diverse roles in Bollywood, celebrated the 10th anniversary of the film "Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobaara" by sharing his experiences and admiration for his co-stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha.

Taking to Instagram, the actor expressed his excitement about the film's "retro vibe" and how it influenced his style, taking cues from Bollywood veterans Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. Imran reminisced about growing out his sideburns and moustache to enhance authenticity but had to use hair extensions, fake sideburns, and a glued-on moustache as the shooting schedule extended until August.

Imran said,

“I grew out my sideburns and moustache in an attempt to be authentic... but it was not to be. While I was initially scheduled to wrap shooting on this film in January 2013 and begin the shoot for Gori Tere Pyaar Mein the next month, the schedules stretched till August of that year, and we were still on set filming scenes two weeks before release! This meant that after filming about 30% of my scenes, I had to shave and get a haircut so I could start GTPM, and complete the rest of OUATIM with hair extensions, fake sideburns and a glued-on mustache,” said the actor. Imran also said that though the movie was marketed as a gangster movie, he always saw it as a “tragic romance”.

Imran Khan also revealed that despite the film being marketed as a gangster movie, he always perceived it as a "tragic romance."

Imran praised their exceptional qualities in his tribute to co-stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha. He described Akshay Kumar as the epitome of "Movie Star cool" and marvelled at his physical strength. Imran commended Sonakshi Sinha for her fearlessness as an actor and her humility. He said,

“@akshaykumar was the very definition of Movie Star cool, and is probably the strongest human being I've met in real life... this dude's forearms are as thick as my calves, seriously. And I loved @aslisona from the first day. Fearless and unrestrained as an actor, and utterly devoid of any self-importance."

Imran Khan's absence from the silver screen since "Katti Batti" in 2015 left his fans longing for his return. However, there is good news for his fans as he is reportedly in advanced discussions with Abbas Tyrewala for an upcoming OTT project, described as a spy action drama series.
