Sometime back, Celesti Bairagey broke the internet with a video of her wherein the actress shared an uncanny resemblance with Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt. This video went viral in no time and Celesti became the talk of the town.
We quizzed Celesti on the same and asked her if she believes that this viral video and her resemblance to Alia Bhatt helped her land a role in Star Plus's upcoming show 'Rajjo.' The actress said, ''To be very honest, Mukta mam saw me for the first time in that video only. It was after this video that she went ahead to check my Instagram handle. I was also a part of a music video in Assam wherein I played the role of a student. She also saw this video and decided to cast me. Not because I resemble anyone or anything but because she thought I resembled Rajjo. She believed that I have what she wanted in Rajjo's character. So, in a way yes that video has helped me.''
We further asked Celesti about her initial reaction when the show was offered to her. The actress replied, ''Aditya Surana who is a casting director approached me on Instagram through my agency. Sometimes, you are not able to believe certain things, thinking that these are too good to be true. My initial reaction was exactly the same. Initially, I did not believe that this will go ahead because I had a lot of negative thoughts. I received a monologue for my audition and I recorded it myself and sent it to the concerned team. I did not inform about this offer to anyone in my family too. Next day, I got a call from the production house saying that I had been selected and that I need to come down to Mumbai for the auditions. More than being happy I was scared because I had not informed about this offer to anyone in my family. Honestly, I feel leaving your house and deciding to go down to Mumbai for work all alone is definitely not a cakewalk. So, when I informed my family, their reaction was shocking and I felt so lucky for the way my parents reacted to the news. My parents said that I should not give it a second thought and that I should definitely fly down to Mumbai. Having your family's support is a blessing. My dad came along me to Mumbai and I gave my mock shoot. After my mock shoot, I was in Juhu, eating a 'wada pav.' It was during that time, that I got a call from the production saying that I was selected for the show. I guess the 'wada pav' was lucky. (giggles)"

If she was selected bcoz of her resemblance to Alia, then it was such a waste. I think talent should b given priority in this industry... n not anything else. This industry is supposed to b a place of artists n not look-alikes..
