Gudi Padwa, a springtime festival celebrated by Maharashtrian and Konkani Hindus, is being celebrated today. People clean their houses, make rangoli designs, host gudi (a garlanded flag with flowers, a saree, and an upturned vessel), and eat delicious foods during the festival.
The festival is also known as Maharashtrian New Year and is a very holy day for them. So today, on this auspicious festival, here are some typical Maharashtrian looks inspired by Bollywood divas which you can recreate.
Kangana Ranaut oozes simplicity and pure vibes in this orangish-brown nauvari saree. She was reflecting the Marathi culture with her jewellery and mojdis. Kangana accessorized her look with very subtle makeup in with her jhumkas adding to her beauty.
This look of Kriti Sanon from the film Panipat is a typical look that one can get inspired by this gudi padwa. In a red Nauvari saree with the chaand bindi, Kriti is giving out the perfect marathu mulgi vibes. She accessorized her look with golden jewelry and a nathni on her nose. She also adorned golden bangles to finish the look.
Earlier, Kajol took to Instagram to share one of her throwback photos from Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. Kajol can be seen in the photo donning a blue silk saree, a red bangle, and the classic Maharashtrian nath. In the film, Kajol played Savitri Bai Malusare, Tanhaji's wife, who is concerned about her husband's health and their son's approaching marriage.
This look of Priyanka Chopra from her film Bajirao Mastani is just unforgettable. The actress aced it and the essence she held of a Marathi wife was unmatchable. In her nuvari saree, the nathni and the chaand bindi made her look like the ideal Maharashtrian. Her look was accessorized with golden jewelry and magnificent earrings giving her the perfect royal look.
Pednekar, dolled up in a traditional Maharashtrian saree and gold jewellery, exudes joyful occasion vibes. In true Marathi mulgi fashion, Pednekar completed her look with a chandrakor bindi. Because the wearables and saree are heavy, she chose a no-makeup makeup look. We especially like the neatly arched brows.
