BMC uses Deepika Padukone's scene from 'Gehraiyaan' to spread a word about waste disposal

Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Ananya Panday starrer ‘Geheraiyaan’ trailer released on Thursday.

The trailer has already gripped the audience with the sizzling chemistry shown and now the fans are waiting eagerly for the release of the film. 

Meanwhile, a specific scene from the same was promptly used by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to spread a word about waste disposal. 

The civic body had shared a video wherein Deepika is seen schooling actor Dhairya Karwa for not disposing the garbage properly. Sharing the clip, the BMC wrote, 

“Understand the ‘Geheraiyaan’ of the situation and dispose waste wisely. #BetterHalfOfMumbai #SwachhMumbai #SegregateWaste #WasteManagement.” 

Interestingly, Ananya Panday also shared the post on her Instagram account.

Geheraiyaan’ explores complex modern relationships, adulting, letting go and taking control of one's life path. Directed by Shakun Batra, this film also stars Dhairya Karwa, Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapoor in pivotal roles.

At the trailer launch event, the actress, who is collaborating with the director for the first time, said she had to dig deep to play Alisha in the noir relationship drama. 

Admitting that playing the part was difficult, she said that the role required her to be 'emotionally naked' and that her emotions had to come from a deep place.

Producer Karan Johar also added that the film's trailer only scratches the surface of the core story and that it has much more to offer.

Originally set for a January release, the film will now come out in time for the Valentine's Day weekend on February 11, 2022 on Amazon prime video.
