Author Chetan Bhagat says the biopics in India tend to glorify the main character but "Azhar", made on the life of former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin seems to be India's first grey biopic.
Bhagat, whose epynomous book "2 States: The Story of My Marriage" was made into a film titled "2 States", is excited for the film, which is slated to release on Friday.
"Biopics in India tend to play safe and only glorify the main character. Azhar seems to be India's first grey biopic. Can't wait for Friday," Bhagat tweeted on Tuesday.
"Azhar" features actor Emraan Hashmi portraying the role of the cricketer.
Directed by Tony D'Souza, "Azhar", which is jointly produced by Balaji Motion Pictures and MSM Motion Pictures, also stars Prachi Desai, Nargis Fakhri and Lara Dutta in pivotal roles.
