Ayushmann was Scared to face the wrath of Amitabh Bachchan after he missed his Diwali Party

Unfortunately, Ayushmann Khurrana missed the Diwali party at the Bachchans and was scared to face Amitabh Bachchan on set, as the two will be sharing screen space together for the very first time in the upcoming film titled Gulabo Sitabo. During Bala promotions, the actor made some interesting revelations and insights about his film...

Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann

The starry kingdom of Bollywood dazzled at several Diwali parties in the last few days and celebrated the festival of lights with a lot of glamour and style. We had reported to you that the adorable couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were nowhere to be seen, as the lovely duo opted for a rather intimate family celebration over a humongous celebrity bash.

DeepVeer were not the only ones missing from the parties as actor Ayushmann Khurrana too missed the grand Bachchan Diwali party. The actor will be sharing screen space with legendary superstar Amitabh Bachchan for the very first time in his upcoming film titled Gulabo Sitabo. And, he says that he was scared to meet Big B on set after he skipped his party.

“As for working with Big B, he is an absolute living legend. It was a fantastic learning experience. Unfortunately, I missed his Diwali party as I was in Chandigarh. I was a bit scared before I reached the sets. But then I saw him in a completely different avatar [for the film] and I couldn’t recognize him (laughs). He didn’t look like Mr. Bachchan that I know of and I’m okay with it as that gave me a lot of confidence,” Ayushmann told Hindustan Times.

He also talks about teaming up with Shoojit Sircar again after his debut movie Vicky Donor. He says, “It was like a homecoming of sorts. He makes everything – including filmmaking – so easy. Unke set pe lagta hai, ‘waah, kitna aasaan hai sub kucch.’

Ayushmann is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, Bala, slated to release on November 7, 2019. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film is a story of a man who is balding prematurely and how he copes with the situation.

Talking to the daily, the Article 15 actor states what appealed to him to sign the film. “The first thing that attracted me was how to overcome your complexes. India is a complex country and we are a bunch of imperfect people. Also, I feel life is about imperfections, and the complexes could be of any nature – skin colour, height, weight or hair loss. So, it’s all about accepting all of that and overcoming those fears. The film isn’t just about receding hairline but also self-love. When I hear a narration, I react, consume and enjoy the script like an audience member and not as a star that I’ve to do this or that. I really enjoyed Bala’s narration as I could visualise the storyline,” Ayushmann asserted.

Besides his work front, he talks about his wife Tahira Kashyap’s health, who was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. Ayushmann said that she is doing well now and his family is currently in Chandigarh. He also revealed that she is currently working on her directorial film.

Talking of Bala, besides Khurrana, the film stars Yami Gautam and Bhumi Pednekar as the female leads. The film faced comparisons with Sunny Singh’s film Ujda Chaman, that also revolves around the similar subject of premature balding. While Sunny’s film is receiving a dull response on the box response, one can only wait to see how Ayushmann’s film fares.
