Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin on Star Plus has been one of the top shows across all channels for the longest time now and Ayesha Singh aka Sai, continues to receive a lot of love for her role in the show. Though the story has shaped up in its own way and continues to receive a rather mixed reaction pertaining the tracks and drama that follows, one conversation that has been around is about Sai being looked up as a feminist icon.
In a conversation with Eastern Eye, Sai spoke about the same and also if she thinks of herself as a feminist. She said, she is not sure Sai is a feminist because she in general, stands for right, no matter the gender and belives in doing right. She adds how Sai has to go against all odds and does whatever is right.
She added, ''Personally, I would stand up for the right thing irrespective of gender. I believe in being just and fair, regardless. I think that is a sign of feminism because a true feminist believes in equality between genders. So, the situation should be justified and fair for both genders. As a person, nobody should go through anything wrong or unfair. I’m not sure if that’s a feminist trait, but Sai and I believe in doing the right thing.''
There is also a lot of conversation around the character Virat and whether it is right, wrong, etc. On what does she think, she says that the show has characters behaving depending upon the situation and that's how human beings are. She feels everybody has a good core and people are nice and the situations and decisions are ones that don't always go well. However, she feels that is the case with all their characters and gave the example of how Kaku is a good person but some find her orthodox. She feels that basically, everybody is nice in the family, including Virat.

Wow so IF doesn’t write any article about Ayesha but when you want to save Virat and whitewash now uou are using Ayesha’s interviews with other prominent editors! Where was IF when she got top 50 in Urban Asia? The biases this forum has is disappointing!

Kaku got Pulkit kidnapped, discarded her granddaughter in an orphanage despite the parents being alive, and continously drugged her daughter so that she does not remember incidences of her past. The basis of the actions may be orthodox beliefs but that's definitely not a sign of a good person. The word is criminal. As for Virat, forget family and domestic abuse that this man has inflicted on his then 18-year-old wife, this man, an IPS officer, has betrayed his nation. I don't think I need to add further to his "goodness."
