The highly-anticipated sequel to Anees Bazmee’s comedy hit, No Entry, has been stirring excitement online. Originally starring Salman Khan, Fardeen Khan, and Anil Kapoor, No Entry 2 will now feature Diljit Dosanjh, Varun Dhawan, and Arjun Kapoor in the lead roles. The absence of Anil Kapoor from the sequel has sparked rumors of a rift between him and his brother, Boney Kapoor.
In a recent interview, Anees Bazmee addressed these rumors. Speaking to Lehren Retro, the Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 director shared his perspective on the alleged tension between the Kapoor brothers due to the casting changes. Bazmee emphasized his friendship with both brothers and acknowledged that Anil Kapoor is understandably disappointed about not being part of the sequel to the 2005 hit comedy. However, Bazmee believes the brothers will resolve their issues independently.
Bazmee reminisced about his collaboration with Anil Kapoor, noting that Anil was deeply involved in the original No Entry, often consulting with him on the film. “He did a great job, and people loved his character. Naturally, he will feel, ‘Main kyun nahin hoon is film ke andar (Why am I not in this film?)’,” Bazmee explained.
Despite understanding Anil’s feelings, Bazmee has chosen not to interfere in the brothers' relationship. “As far as I know, the two brothers have immense love for each other. Inke beech ki jo narazgi hai woh kuch dino ki ho sakti hai (Their feud is temporary). Mujhe lagta hai yeh dono aapas mein nipat lenge aur aapas mein baat cheet karlenge, mujhe indono se baat karne ki koi zarurat nahin hai. Inko kisi aur ki zarurat nahin hai (I feel they both should sort out their differences and I don’t need to intervene. They actually don’t need anyone),” Bazmee remarked.
Bazmee confirmed that No Entry 2 is moving forward and is set to begin filming in December 2024, with a planned release in 2025. Fans eagerly await the return of this beloved comedy franchise, hoping the new cast will bring fresh energy to the film while honoring the spirit of the original.
