The grand finale of the forthcoming Amazon India Fashion Week (AIFW) -- the 25th edition of the FDCI fashion gala -- will be truly grand with 25 designers coming together to present signature pieces celebrating India's rich handicraft tapestry.
The ramp at AIFW will burst in a kaleidoscope of red, orange and pink during the 'Special Celebration Grand Finale', where some of Indian fashion industry's known names, will bring to life the "Craft of India" by showcasing their individual interpretations of the theme.
To be held on March 29 night at Pragati Maidan here, the finale, hosted by Amazon India, aims to bring to limelight the richness and heritage of Indian craft. Each of the 25 designers will present two ensembles inspired by the rich crafts of India in tones of red, orange and pink and highlight them in a unique collective manner.
"Indian craft finds its unique expression in almost every Indian home and runs like an admired and cherished thread through our sensibilities. We have decided to theme the Grand Finale on 'Crafts of India' because it resonates with each Indian," Vikas Purohit, head (Fashion), Amazon India, said in a statement.
Purohit promises a spectacle to remember at the finale.
"When 25 of India's most talented and creative minds collaborate together towards a single purpose, it can only result in something spectacularly innovative and creative -- a true homage to Indian craftsmanship and a befitting culmination to the Amazon India Fashion Week," he added.
Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) president Sunil Sethi too believes that getting 25 designers on the same stage is the best way to celebrate the "momentous occasion".
"This is a great concept... and the resulting execution of the idea will present a unique experience that will set new benchmarks for such events in the future," he said.
Among the 25 designers who will showcase their creativity at the finale are Abraham & Thakore, Amit Agarwal, Anamika Khanna, Aneeth Arora, Anju Modi, Ashish Soni, Gaurav Gupta, J.J. Valaya, Manish Arora, Manish Malhotra, Monisha Jaising, Namrata Joshipura, Pankaj & Nidhi, Raghavendra Rathore, Rahul Mishra, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna, Rina Dhaka, Ritu Kumar, Rohit Bal, Sabyasachi, Suneet Varma, Tarun Tahiliani, Varun Bahl and Wendell Rodricks.
