Seldom do we come across actors who go on to quit the industry after being a part of it for umpteen years. To take such a step needs courage and of course, a lot of thought having gone into it. Similar has been the story for actor Grusha Kapoor, who was a part of the small screen for a long time having appeared in an array G shows. However, having last played the role of Kaikeyi in Siya Ke Ram, Kapoor quit the industry and bud adieu to the small screen especially.
Talking about it on length with ETimes TV, she said, “After doing web series and films, I realised that these platforms are more fun than TV. For a TV show we used to shoot 10-12 scenes in a day, here we only shoot 2 scenes and post that everyone feels bohot kaam kar liya! Plus the subjects of TV shows nowadays are so similar that as an actor, I don’t feel like doing anything. There is a typical family drama and everything revolves around that only. Also the amount of money that I will earn by doing 6 months of TV, I can get by doing one film for 20 days."
She talked about having seen the golden period of TV with legends like Rakesh Bedi among others and is glad to have belonged to that period.
It's been five years now that Kapoor hasn't returned to the small screen yet and might be longer wait before she actually is back.
