'Aashiqui 3' being planned? Mukesh Bhatt reveals details

In Bollywood, the trend of having musical hits can safely be credit to the Bhatts where the makers and producers have managed to churn an array of films that have scintillating and iconic music that one continues to hum for years and years.

While it is the 2000s when the Bhatts did that more oftenly but one cannot forget they themselves started the trend back in the 90s with the musical superhit, Aashiqui. Almost two decades later, they decided to plan a sequel to the original with new faces and before one new, Aashiqui 2 went on to become a ginormous success propelling the careers of Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor apart from having legendary music.

There have lately been rumors that the Bhatts are planning on Aashiqui 3 now. In the past too, there have been rumors that the likes of Sidharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and recent debutant Ahan Shetty might be a part of the third film but nothing was ever confirmed.

Now, after all this time, producer Mukesh Bhatt was asked on the plans of the same and the fans might not be happy to know his answer. Bhatt told that there are no plans to make a third Aashiqui as of now. He mentioned that they need to have a script to even decide to make the film for what is - one of the most successful franchises in the history of film industry.

As known, the first Aashiqui featured Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal that releases in 1990. as directed by Mahesh Bhatt. And the Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Aashiqui 2 released in 2013. Whether or not, a third film will be made, we will have to wait and see.
