Supriya Vinod in Indu Sarkar

The only silver lining of the 2017 political drama 'Indu Sarkar', directed by Madhur Bhandarkar that centered on the occurrences of India's emergency era in 1975, was Supriya Vinod's portrayal of Indira Gandhi. Mrs. Indira Gandhi was skillfully portrayed by Supriya Anand, who teamed wonderfully with Neil Nitin Mukesh as the late Sanjay Gandhi. Supriya also portrayed Indira Gandhi in the Telugu biopic NTR: Kathanayakudu. 

Flora Jacob in Raid and Thalaivi

When Flora Jacob, a lesser-known performer, played Indira Gandhi in Raj Kumar Gupta's 2018 smash hit Raid, which also starred Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz, she drew the attention of several viewers. Despite the fact that her apperance  was breif, it was significant to the story, which was inspired on events in the early 1980s. The late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa's biography, Thalaivi, starring Kangana Ranaut,  also featured actress Flora Jacob as Indira Gandhi.

Lara Dutta in Bell Bottom

Many people were surprised to learn that Lara Dutta was playing Indira Gandhi in Bell Bottom, and it's possible that this will turn out to be her most enduring performance throughout her entire acting career. Although, she was barely recognisable in the Bell Bottom trailer because of the flawless prosthetics she was wearing, people nonetheless praised her performance in the movie after it was released, despite the fact that the overall movie didn't please many.

In the upcoming movie Emergency, Kangana Ranaut will portray India's Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film recounts the true story of the 1975 Emergency in India and is directed by Ranaut herself. It was today that the poster and teaser of the film has been unveiled and it is sure to spark some discussions over a period of time.
