Riddhima Kapoor Sahni breaks silence on trolling during Rishi Kapoor's last days: Worst phase of our lives

Late Bollywood icon Rishi Kapoor, remembered fondly for his unparalleled talent, continues to hold a cherished place in the hearts of his fans even after his passing. Recently, his daughter Riddhima Sahni and son-in-law Bharat Sahni shed light on the trying times they faced during the actor's final days in a heartfelt interview with Gallata Plus.

Bharat Sahni, husband to Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, reflected on Rishi Kapoor's unwavering passion for acting, even in his final moments. Despite battling illness, the veteran actor's thoughts were consumed by his love for the camera and his desire to continue making movies. Bharat revealed how Rishi Kapoor's concerns extended to whether he would be accepted back into the industry and if he could complete his ongoing projects.

Recalling the filming of Rishi Kapoor's last project, "Sharmaji Namkeen," in Delhi. Despite health challenges, Rishi Kapoor immersed himself in the shoot, capturing the essence of Delhi's streets while indulging in its culinary delights.

The family's journey with Rishi Kapoor's illness was tumultuous, with periods of hope followed by setbacks. Riddhima revealed that Rishi Kapoor first flew to New York in 2018 for his treatment and in 2019 he came back and looked much better. But the cancer came back very quickly and aggressively. “We did spend Diwali together, we went out. He was very excited,” she shared, and added, “He was so happy, attended all the Diwali parties, we spent Diwali together and next thing, in a few months, he is back in the hospital.”

Amid their grief, Riddhima Sahni addressed the scrutiny they faced from online trolls, who questioned their apparent lack of sorrow. Riddhima said that it was the ‘worst phase’ of their lives. She also added that people do not know what they went through.

Riddhima further revealed the heart-wrenching circumstances surrounding her father's passing. Stranded in Delhi due to pandemic restrictions, she was unable to be by his side in his final moments. The news of his demise reached her through Facetime.
