Alia Bhatt x Vasan Bala: 'Jigra' promises unshakable courage and sibling love

Karan Johar recently unveiled the title and first look of Alia Bhatt's upcoming film with director Vasan Bala. The film, titled "Jigra," marks Alia Bhatt's first collaboration with Vasan Bala and her debut as a co-producer alongside Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.

KJo took to Instagram to share the exciting news with fans. The first look video begins with a thought-provoking quote by GK Chesterton: "The paradox of courage is that one must be a little careless of life in order to keep it." 

The video proceeds to reveal the first glimpse of Alia Bhatt in the streets of what appears to be Japan. She stands confidently with a bag slung over her shoulder, exuding an air of determination and purpose.

The teaser video accompanying the title announcement features a voiceover by Alia Bhatt, addressing her sibling and emphasizing her commitment to protect them. An animated version of Alia Bhatt standing in the rain with an intense expression adds intrigue to the teaser.

Karan Johar expressed his excitement for the film in his Instagram post, writing, "The return of…my #Jigra, @aliaabhatt once again on this exceptional story helmed by @vasanbala. A story of unbreakable love & unshakable courage! JIGRA – in cinemas on 27th September 2024."

Notably, Alia Bhatt is not only the lead actress in "Jigra" but also a co-producer, a role she shares with Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.

Talking about her work front, she played the antagonist in the Hollywood film "Heart Of Stone" alongside Gal Gadot and garnered acclaim for her performance. Before that, she starred as Rani in Karan Johar's directorial "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani," opposite Ranveer Singh, receiving praise from both critics and audiences.
