Salman Khan, faced a shocking incident recently when his Bandra residence became the scene of gunfire on April 14th around 4:55 AM. Startling the nation, five rounds of firing occurred outside his home, leading to swift action by the Mumbai Police, who managed to apprehend the assailants.

Last week, during a court hearing, Vicky Gupta, Sagar Pal, and Anuj Thapan, among the accused, were remanded to police custody by Special MCOCA judge A M Patil. Sonu Kumar Chander Bishnoi was sent to judicial custody on medical grounds.

However, the situation took a tragic turn when one of the accused, Anuj Thapan, reportedly attempted suicide in the early hours of May 1st while in custody at the Mumbai Police Headquarters. Rushed to GT Hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Details suggest the incident occurred around 11 AM in the bathroom of the police lock-up.

Sources close to the investigation reveal that Thapan took this drastic step while the other accused were away recording statements. The motive behind his suicide remains unclear.

Thapan, apprehended from Punjab by the Mumbai Crime Branch, was accused of procuring firearms for the perpetrators of the gunfire outside Salman Khan's residence.

Adding to the complexity of the situation, a Facebook post attributed to an account allegedly belonging to Anmol, the younger brother of incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, referred to the firing incident as "just a trailer."
